RBI Assistant 2016 Exam Pattern

As you can see, this time the selection process is different from last time. Whereas previously there was single stage exam, now there will be prelims and mains followed by interviews. This move by RBI is probably to have a better selection process considering the large number of applications it received last time. You can note the new exam pattern to prepare for the exams.

Preliminary exam

Name of test / subject Number of questions Maximum marks
English language 30 30
Numerical ability 35 35
Reasoning ability 35 35
Total 100 100

Duration of exam is 1 hour.

For every correct answer you get 1 mark, and for every incorrect answer 1/4th marks will be deducted.

Those who clear the prelims, by obtaining marks equal to or more than RBI Assistant 2016 prelims cut off marks, will be eligible to appear for mains.

Mains exam

Name of test / subject Number of questions Maximum marks
Reasoning 40 40
English language 40 40
Numerical ability 40 40
General awareness 40 40
Computer knowledge 40 40
Total 200 200

Duration of exam is 2 hours.

Similar to prelims exam, in mains also 1/4th marks negative marking rule is applicable.

Then based on marks of main exam, RBI will call a limited number of candidates for interview process.
